Trapped, 2018, Beading wire and freshwater pearls, 32 x 22 x 3 cm

By trapping pearls within a cage, I aim to capture the trapped feeling sometimes associated with the expectations of women to wear jewellery, this is further enhanced by the woven closure used to hold this necklace in place when worn.
